Creating a custom report

Show expandable text

In addition to the standard forms and reports that are available in Fixed Assets CS, you can define custom reports. Custom reports can even include special values and formulas.

  1. Choose Setup > Custom Reports.

Note: Depending on your security configuration, you might need to enter the master password before you can open the Custom Reports dialog.

  2. Click the Add button, enter a description for the new report, select a template (if desired), and then click Continue.
  3. In the Custom Report Layout dialog, choose the columns to include in the layout.

Note: Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the placement of a column in the report.

  4. To include values from custom treatments in the current report, choose T1, T2, or T3 (treatment variables) from the Select category field. Then, choose the columns to include. (You will choose which custom treatment each treatment variable corresponds to in the Options > Miscellaneous tab.)
  5. To include a special customized column, click the Add Calculated Column button. When you have finished, click OK to return to the Custom Report Layout dialog.
  6. Click Continue. The Options dialog opens.
  7. Click the Presentation tab.
  8. Choose the presentation options you want to use for this report. (To view detailed information about the fields and options in this tab, see the Presentation tab overview.)
  9. If you chose to include columns from the treatment variables category, click the Miscellaneous tab to select which custom treatment each treatment variable corresponds to.
  10. Click OK to return to the Custom Reports dialog.
  11. Click Done.

Notes

  • You may create an unlimited number of custom reports in Fixed Assets CS.
  • Each custom report automatically shifts from portrait to landscape format as necessary when you specify additional columns for the report or choose a larger font size. When the width of the report layout exceeds the size for printing in landscape format, you will receive a message stating the report will be available for export through the Utilities > Export Asset Data dialog and the File > Print dialog.
  • All custom reports are available for printing for any client (as well as for all computers running Fixed Assets CS on a network) and are listed in the Custom tab in the Print dialog.
