Assigning or modifying a master password

Show expandable text

Assigning a master password allows you to restrict access to security options and other system settings. To assign or modify a master password, perform the following steps.

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration.
  2. In the Security tab, enter the master password and click Continue. You can skip this step if a master password has not yet been assigned.
  3. Click the Modify button to enter and verify a new master password (eight characters maximum, not case sensitive).
  4. Click OK.

Tip: If you forget your master password, the licensee of the firm should call 800-968-0600, press 1 to speak with a Customer Service Representative, and ask the representative to help you obtain a temporary password. You can then enter the temporary password in the Setup > System Configuration > Security tab, click the Modify button, and reset the master password.
