Installing Add-Ins on 64-bit Windows workstations

If the GoFileRoom print driver fails to install during the installation of the GoFileRoom Client Add-In and your computer is running a Windows (64-Bit) operating system, you may see the following error message.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

  1. Click the Continue button in the .Net error dialog.
  2. Click the close button in the upper-right corner to close the error dialog.
  3. Click the Windows Start button and choose Administrative Tools > Services.
  4. Double-click Print Spooler in the Services list.
  5. Click the Stop button, then click OK.
  6. Navigate to C:\windows\system32\
  7. Rename pdf32.dll to pdf32.old.
  8. Navigate to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\GoFileRoom\PrintToGoFileRoom\PrintDriver.
  9. Right-click the GoFileRoomPrinterx64_Uninstall.bat file and select Run as Administrator from the context menu.
  10. Open the Services dialog
  11. Select Print Spooler and start that service.
  12. Right-click the GoFileRoomPrinterx64_Install.bat file and select Run as Administrator.

These services should all run without error. To verify that the GoFileRoom print driver has been installed, navigate to Devices and Printers and look for the GoFileRoom printer icon.

    Double-click the GFRAcrobatInstaller.exe file located in:

    • 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFileRoom\GFRAcrobat\Distribution)
    • 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\GoFileRoom\GFRAcrobat\Distribution

    1. Copy all API files and the Annotations folder located in:
      • 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat xx.x\Acrobat\plug_ins
      • 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat xx.x\Acrobat\plug_ins
    2. Paste the API files and Annotations folder into your Acrobat plug-ins directory as previously noted.
    3. Choose to Yes to overwrite all, if prompted.

    1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
    2. Choose Edit > Preferences.
    3. Click General in the Categories list.
    4. in the Application Startup section, verify that the Use only certified plug-ins checkbox is unmarked and that the current setting for "Currently in Certified Mode" is "No."
    5. If clearing the Use only certified plug-ins checkbox and restarting Acrobat does not resolve the issue, contact GoFileRoom Support.
