General

We are excited to announce that this release of GoFileRoom includes all of the enhancements that were previously made available on June 1st, 2020 via a temporary URL at https://bi.gofileroom.com. These enhancements include browser-independence, a new Home screen that provides a gateway to essential areas of the application, and a new Document Search screen that combines the existing Document Explorer and Index Search (Classic search) views in a single, modern page. These new features are now available from the primary URL at https://www.gofileroom.com.

We recommend updating to the latest version of the GoFileroom Client Add-in (v.20.0.5) as soon as feasible. The 19.0.4 version of the Client Add-in was the first one that supported the new technology necessary for the enhancements to GoFileRoom, which we communicated in previous User Bulletins and email notifications. To avoid major disruptions, all workstations must be using the GoFileRoom Client Add-in v.19.0.4 or higher. Typically, only the latest version and one prior are supported, but to allow you some flexibility around this upgrade, we're supporting the 19.0.4 version. For details, see GoFileRoom Add-ins.

Now, you’re able to log into GoFileRoom with the single https://www.gofileroom.com URL to work in the new browser-independent interface. After a period of time, the https://bi.gofileroom.com URL will be removed. In the meantime, please update your bookmark to make sure you're using https://www.gofileroom.com after this release, as we will not be maintaining the https://bi.gofileroom.com site.

Requirements

  • Supported browsers include Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
  • GoFileRoom Client Add-in version 19.0.4 or higher.

Client Add-in

We have updated the GoFileRoom Client Add-In to version 20.0.5. While updating to the latest version is not required to continue using GoFileRoom, it is strongly recommended that customers install this version as soon as possible to avoid loss of functionality.

Note: GoFileRoom supports the current and one prior version of the Client Add-In. If your firm experiences any issues, verify your users have the latest version of the Client Add-In installed.

  • The GoFileRoom ControlPanel now supports Google Chrome.
  • QuickLaunch now supports Google Chrome.

Note: Both applications will use either Chrome or Internet Explorer if one is set as the default. If any other browser is set as the default, Chrome will be used. If Chrome is not installed, Internet Explorer will be used.

Home page

  • We've added a new Home page that has a modern interface and all of the features and functionality of the legacy Home page.

Document Search

  • Changes that you make to the column widths and column ordering in the results grid are now saved.
  • Explorer view now saves your search options for subsequent searches instead of being cleared out.
  • We fixed an issue that caused an error to display when publishing documents from Document Search.
  • Column filtering options only show the values available instead of all of the possible values.
  • Files now remain selected after copying, moving, or re-indexing them.

ScanFlow

  • Alert emails are now sent as expected.

RecordsFlow

  • Archive policies can now be run successfully in Google Chrome.

API

  • We're increased the maximum number of results per call from 200 to 10,000 items for the FirmFlow Tracking Report (by Deliverable) API endpoint.

Note: If you're using the FirmFlow API utility, contact Technical Support to get an updated version of the utility that includes this change.

Other changes

  • Pressing F5 to refresh a page is now working as expected for the Home page, Document Search, Reports, and Administration. You will no longer be redirected to the Classic Search page, instead of reloading the current one.
  • You can now override checkouts on the Document Tracking report as expected.
