Restore an older version of a document

Show expandable text

If you need to restore an older version of a document after you find a mistake in the current version or if the file is corrupted, then you have the following options.

  • Edit an older version of the document, if your firm uses versioning.
  • Ask your GoFileRoom administrator to restore the document, if it has been deleted.
  • Ask GoFileRoom Support to restore an older version.

Ask GoFileRoom Support to restore an older version of a document

  1. Select Search Documents, then Classic Search to find the current version of the document.
  2. In the search results, tick the checkbox next to the document, then right-click it and select Show Document History from the context menu.
  3. Make a note of the 10-digit ID.
  4. In the Document History, look for an older version that has Saved Document in the Action column and make a note of its date and time stamp.

Note: If a staff member used Undo Changes after editing the document, that document can't be restored to that date/time stamp.

  5. Send an email to Customer Support that includes the document ID and the date and time stamp of the version you would like restored.
  6. If the document was previously part of an AdvanceFlow engagement, you'll also need to add it back in.

Note:The restored document will have the same indexes as the original, with a new document ID.
