NetFirm CS administrators who have access to Utilities can now change folder names and file names for files that staff members send to NetClient CS from FileCabinet CS, GoSystem Tax CS, and UltraTax CS. The items that you can modify vary depending on the application from which staff members send files to NetClient CS.

To make changes to folder name and files names, follow these steps.

  1. In the Admin tab of the navigation pane, click the Document Settings link in the Utilities section.

Note: If you don’t see this link, you don’t have access to this area.

  2. Click the appropriate tab. The following table describes the changes you can make to the folder structure, folder names, and files names of files that are sent to NetClient CS from each application.
FileCabinet CS You can rename top-level folders. (The names of subfolders are determined by FileCabinet CS; you cannot change them.)
    GoSystem Tax RS
    • You can rename parent folders, sub-folders, and file names. In addition to changing the text of the file names and folder names, you can add variables to them.
    • You can remove subfolders from the folder structure.
    UltraTax CS
    • You can rename parent folders, sub-folders, and file names. In addition to changing the text of the file names and folder names, you can add variables to them.

    • You can modify the naming convention for amended files.

    Tips

    • To modify a folder name or file name, place your cursor in the field for the folder or file and then add or delete text. You can also select variables from the Available Variables drop-down list. (Note that you cannot add variables to the folder names in the FileCabinet CS tab.)
    • To remove a folder from the folder structure, highlight the name of the folder and delete it.
  3. Click Enter.

Notes

  • To restore the default folder structure, folder names, and file names, by click the Restore Default button at the bottom of the screen. When you click this button, NetFirm CS restores the defaults only in the tab you are viewing.
  • To view the default folder path and file name for a type of document, hover your mouse pointer over the field label, as shown below.
