Notes

  • FileCabinet CS provides a secure storage location for your clients’ electronic documents.
  • The following Microsoft Office applications are available through Virtual Client Office: Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.

Follow these steps to give a NetClient CS user access to FileCabinet CS and/or Microsoft Office applications.

Note: If your firm licenses Accounting CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can give your clients access to Accounting CS Client Access through Virtual Client Office.

To learn how to enable Accounting CS Client Access for your clients, see the Accounting CS topic Setting up a client for Accounting CS Client Access.
  1. In the Admin tab of the navigation pane, click the Users link in the NetClient CS section.

Note: If you don’t see this link, you don’t have access to this area.

  2. In the Users list, enter any part of the user’s name or login in the Find field to locate the user and click the user’s name. The information for the user displays on the right.

Note: Delete the entry from the Find field to view the full list of users.

  3. Click the Enable button for Virtual Client Office (CS).
  4. In the Product pane, mark the checkboxes for the applications the user needs to access.
  5. In the Data Location pane, select the appropriate option.

If you need to change a NetClient CS user’s data location (Private, Client, or Profile), you must back up the client’s FileCabinet CS and/or Microsoft Office application data, change the data location, and then restore the data into FileCabinet CS and/or the Microsoft Office application. Learn about situations in which you would need to move data to a different location.

    • Private. Click this option if the client will not share FileCabinet CS and/or Microsoft Office application data with any other NetClient CS users or profiles.
    • Client. Click this option if the client will access the same FileCabinet CS and/or Microsoft Office application data as a former user of hosted CBS (a discontinued application).
    • Profile. Click this option if the client will share FileCabinet CS and/or Microsoft Office application data with other NetClient CS users. In the Profile pane, mark the checkbox for the appropriate profile. (To add a profile, click the Add Profile button, enter a name for the profile, and click Create.)
  6. Click Enter.
