Accessing local and network drives through applications that run in Digita Virtual Office

If you access applications through Digita Virtual Office, you can navigate to your local network drives through application dialogs in which you can type a data location.

Note: You can open applications through Digita Virtual Office by clicking the Applications link in the navigation pane and then clicking an application icon. (If you don’t see these items, you don’t have access to applications through Digita Virtual Office.)

Browsing to the local C: drive

Digita Virtual Office will automatically map to the local C: drive of the workstation you are logged into. Note that C$ (\\Client) (V:) is your local C: drive in the Digita Virtual Office environment.

To navigate to your local drive, follow these steps.

  1. Click >Computer in any browse dialog.
  2. Click C$ (\\Client) (V:) to access folders and files on your local C: drive.
  3. To access files and folders that are saved to your local desktop, click Users, select your Windows profile, and click Desktop.

Internal staff will need to browse to V:\Users\(windows profile)\OneDrive - Thomson Reuters Incorporated\Desktop to access the local desktop.

If a customer is having trouble accessing their local desktop, have them open File Explorer. They will need to browse to their local desktop, then click in the white space in the address bar. The path will show and this is the location where they will need to browse from within VO/SaaS. Just change the drive from C: to V:.

Browsing to a local network

Note: Not all applications allow you to browse to network drives.

To navigate to local network drives through dialogs in applications that are running in the Digita Virtual Office environment, enter the UNC path.

Example: To access a local network drive, enter \\servername\path\.
