When you launch an application that requires the Citrix ICA Client from within Chrome, Chrome downloads the application.ica file but does not automatically launch it. Click the application.ica icon in the lower-left corner of the screen to launch it.

If you want the application.ica file to launch automatically, right-click the application.ica button and choose Always open files of this type.

To clear the settings for auto-opening files, do the following:

  1. Click the Customize and control Google Chrome button near the upper-right corner of the screen, and choose Settings.
  2. Click the Advanced link at the bottom of the page.
  3. In the Downloads section, click the Clear button next to Open certain file types automatically after downloading.
  4. Click Done.

  3. In the Privacy and security section, click the Content settings button.
  4. Click the JavaScript button.
  5. Verify that JavaScript is Allowed.  If you see "Blocked", then click the button on the right so you see Allowed (recommended).

If you attempt to open an application through Virtual Office CS and the Citrix ICA Client is not installed on the computer, you will see the following dialog.

If you have Chrome set to "Always open files of this type," Chrome will save only 100 application.ica files in the Downloads folder. When attempting to open the 100th application.ica file, Chrome will prompt you to "Save as." This can also limit you to only open one application at a time.  When you try to open the second program you will get a session conflict indicating that a user is already running the program.  You will need to clear the Downloads folder in Windows Explorer periodically to avoid this situation.  To open Windows Explorer press the Windows key and letter E on your keyboard, then navigate to the Downloads folder.  The Downloads folder is often found under Favorites or C:\Users\username\Downloads.  This will not be resolved by clearing the downloads section in the browser.
