To add one or more years to the open plan, perform the following steps.

Note: Years cannot be added to family plans, annualized plans, S Corp Comparison plans, or to the beginning of single-base-year plans.

  1. Choose Edit > Plan Years > Add to open the Add Year(s) dialog.
  2. Enter a number in the #Year(s) to add field or use the arrows to select the number.
  3. Select the Add years after [last plan year] or Add years before [first plan year] option.
  4. In the Copy data from alternative field, select one of the following items from the drop-down list.

Note: This field is not available when the Add years before [first plan year] option is selected.

    • Select the alternative that includes the data you want to copy.
    • Select Same alternative to have the new year's data copied from the indicated year within the same alternative.
    • Select None to leave the fields blank (except for default values).

Tip: When you add more than one year, Planner CS automatically copies the information from the selected alternative and year into all added years. However, if you prefer to manually enter data in the added years, select None.

  5. In the Copy data from year field, select one of the following items from the drop-down list.

Note: This field is not available when None is selected in the Copy data from alternative field or when the Add years before [first plan year] option is selected.

    • Select the year that includes the data you want to copy.
    • Select None to leave the fields blank (except for default values).

Tip: When you add more than one year, Planner CS automatically copies the information from the selected alternative and year into all added years. However, if you prefer to manually enter data in the added years, select None.

  6. Click OK to close this dialog. The next or previous sequential year(s) will be added to the main data-entry window in the open plan.
