Use the Lines dialog to format paragraph borders in a client letter. You can apply borders to the top, bottom, left, and right sides of a paragraph, as well as modify the border style, line width, and line color.

To open this dialog, choose Format > Borders from either the Custom Letter or Template Letter window.

Fields & buttons

Style group box

Mark this checkbox to apply a dotted border.

Mark this checkbox to apply a double border.

Enter the width you want the border line, or use the arrows to select a width.

Enter the amount of space you want between the paragraph and the border, or use the arrows to select an amount.

Select a color from the drop-down list to apply to the background of the paragraph.

Borders group box

Click this button to apply a border to the top of the paragraph.

Tip: Click the Border color button button to change the color of the border line.

Click this button to apply a border to the border of the paragraph.

Tip: Click the Border color button button to change the color of the border line.

Click this button to apply a border to the left side of the paragraph.

Tip: Click the Border color button button to change the color of the border line.

Click this button to apply a border to the right side of the paragraph.

Tip: Click the Border color button button to change the color of the border line.

Mark this checkbox to apply all borders (bottom, top, left, and right) to the paragraph.

Tip: If you want to remove one of the borders, click the appropriate border button to remove it.

Mark this checkbox to apply all borders (bottom, top, left, and right) to the paragraph, forming a "box" around the paragraph.

Note: You cannot remove any of the borders if you mark this checkbox, although you can change the color of the border line.

Other fields & buttons

Click this button to apply the border settings to the paragraph.
