Paragraph Format dialog

Use the Paragraph Format dialog to format the paragraphs in a client letter. You can modify paragraph alignment, indentation, and spacing.

To open this dialog, choose Format > Paragraph from either the Custom Letter or Template Letter window.

Fields & buttons

Select the alignment you want for the paragraph from the drop-down list. You can select from the following:

  • Left - aligns the paragraph to the left of the page.
  • Right - aligns the paragraph to the right of the page.
  • Centered - aligns the paragraph to the center of the page.
  • Justified - aligns text at both the left and right margins or paragraph indents.

Enter the distance you would like the paragraph indented from the left margin, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Enter the distance you would like the paragraph indented from the right margin, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Enter the distance you would like the first line of the paragraph indented from the left margin, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Enter the amount of space you would like before the paragraph, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Enter the amount of space you would like after the paragraph, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Select the line spacing method from the drop-down list. You can choose from the following:

  • multiple: allows you to increase line spacing by a half space at a time.
  • at least: line spaces will adjust to the minimum size you specify to accommodate larger font sizes or graphics.
  • exactly: all lines are evenly spaced and do not adjust.

Enter the amount of space you want between lines in the paragraph, or use the arrows to select a distance.

Click this button to apply the formatting settings to the paragraph.
