In addition to the features listed in Getting started with Planner CS, Planner CS also includes the following capabilities.
- Allows you to add a virtually unlimited number of years and alternatives to each plan. For more information, see Adding a year or Adding alternatives.
- Provides instantaneous calculations while entering data. See Turning calculations on or off.
- Includes automatic carry-forward of applicable items from one year to the next.
- Enables you to enter data in any order.
- Enables you to back up and restore multiple clients' data at once. See Backing up data and Restoring data from a backup copy.
- Allows you to convert data from a joint plan into separate plan alternatives for the taxpayer and spouse. See Performing an MFS split.
- Allows you to create a family plan to analyze how the investment income of minor children will affect the parents' and the entire family's total tax liability.
- Provides a sophisticated help system that includes overview topics and related procedures in addition to context-sensitive "What's This?" help. For details, see Finding answers for Planner CS in the Help & How-To Center.
- Allows you to create an Annualized plan - a one-year, four-period plan that calculates federal quarterly estimated payments - and print Form 1040-ES payment vouchers.
- Using the Result Finder feature, Planner CS will automatically vary the dollar amount of a selected federal data entry field until the desired result of a selected calculated field is found. See Result Finder dialog.
- Allows multiple nonresident states in a single plan.
- Allows you to view differences between fields using Difference Analysis mode.
