Use these tabs of the Layout Designer dialog to create a header or footer for your reports. This header or footer can include the names of your client and firm, the plan description, and two lines of text.

To open this dialog and tab, choose Reports > Report Layouts and click the Header or Footer tab.

Note: To enable the fields in this dialog, highlight a layout in the list and click the Edit button, or click the Add button to add a new layout.

Fields & buttons

Header / Footer font group box

This field displays the selected font. To change the font, click the Font button.

This field displays the point size for the selected font. To change the point size, either enter the size in this field or click the Font button.

Note: You cannot change the font size when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.

Click this button to open a dialog in which you can change fonts, font styles, sizes, and effects.

Mark this checkbox to display bold font.

Mark this checkbox to display italic font.

Mark this checkbox to display underlined font.

Header / Footer text group box

Enter one or two lines of text for the header or footer.

Header / Footer Section (inches) group box

Enter values (in inches) in the available fields to specify the amount of space that should appear around the page header or footer.

Note: You cannot change these options when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.

Justification group box

Click the justification option for the appropriate section.

Other fields & buttons

Mark this checkbox to have the plan's description, firm name, header text, and footer text appear only on the first page of reports that are printed with the current layout.

Note: This option is not available when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.

Mark this checkbox to display the plan description in the header.

Mark this checkbox to display the client name in the header.

Mark this checkbox to display the firm name in the header.

Enter a value for the percentage of gray you want to appear in the header or footer background. The value can range from 0 (no gray) to 100 (black).
