The Edit Multiple Clients dialog provides a quick way to add engagements or projects to multiple clients at one time, or to change client or engagement information for multiple clients at one time.

Notes

  • The ability to add projects is available only if you are licensed for the Project Management module.
  • You can edit all active clients, and inactive clients for whom Left dates have been entered.

Adding engagements to multiple clients

  1. In the Clients screen, click the Edit multiple Clients link.
  2. In the Edit Multiple Clients dialog, click the Add Engagements option, then click the Next button.
  3. In the left pane of the dialog, click each client to which you want to add engagements and then click the Select button, or click Select All to select all clients at once.

    Tip: Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking to select multiple consecutive clients, or hold down the CTRL key to select multiple nonconsecutive clients.

  4. Click the Next button.
  5. In the left pane, click each engagement that you want to add to the clients you have selected, or click Select All to add all of the engagements at once.
  6. Click the Finish button to add the engagements to the selected clients.

Adding projects to multiple clients

  1. Open the Edit Multiple Clients dialog.

    To open the Edit Multiple Clients dialog, do one of the following:

    • Choose Setup > Clients, and then click the Edit multiple Clients link at the bottom of the screen.
    • Choose Actions > Manage Projects. In the Projects tab, select two or more projects from the list, right-click, and choose Add Projects to multiple Clients from the context menu.
    • Choose Actions > Manage Clients. In the Clients tab, select two or more clients from the list, right-click, and choose Edit Selected Clients from the context menu.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If you opened the Edit Multiple Clients dialog from the Clients setup screen, click the Add Projects option. This option is available only if you are licensed for the Project Management module.
    • If you opened the Edit Multiple Clients dialog from the Manage Projects screen, proceed to step 4.
  3. Click the Next button.
  4. In the left pane of the dialog, click each client to which you want to add projects and then click the Select button, or click Select All to select all clients at once.
  5. Click the Next button.
  6. In the left pane, click each project that you want to add to the clients you have selected, or click Select All to add all of the projects at once.
  7. Click the Finish button to add the projects to the selected clients.

Changing client information for multiple clients

  1. In the Clients screen, click the Edit multiple Clients link.
  2. In the Edit Multiple Clients dialog, click the Change Client information option.
  3. Click the Next button.
  4. In the left pane of the dialog, select the clients you want to edit and click the Select button to move those clients to the right pane, or click the Select All button to select all clients at once.
  5. When all desired clients are selected, click the Next button.
  6. In the first drop-down list, choose the field you want to edit for the selected clients.
  7. In the field next to the drop-down list, select the new value for the selected field.

    Note: The value you select will overwrite the existing value in this field for each client you have selected.

  8. To edit another field, click the Add Row Add Row button button and repeat the previous two steps to change the value for the selected field.
  9. Click the Finish button to update the selected fields for the selected clients.

Changing engagement information for multiple clients

  1. In the Edit Multiple Clients dialog, click the Change Engagement information option.

    To open the Edit Multiple Clients dialog, do one of the following:

    • Choose Setup > Clients, and then click the Edit multiple Clients link at the bottom of the screen.
    • Choose Actions > Manage Projects. In the Projects tab, select two or more projects from the list, right-click, and choose Add Projects to multiple Clients from the context menu.
    • Choose Actions > Manage Clients. In the Clients tab, select two or more clients from the list, right-click, and choose Edit Selected Clients from the context menu.
  2. Click the Next button.
  3. In the left pane of the dialog, select the clients whose engagements you want to edit and click the Select button to move those clients to the right pane, or click the Select All button to select all clients at once.
  4. When all desired clients are selected, click the Next button.
  5. In the left pane of the dialog, select each engagement that you want to edit and click the Select button, or click the Select All button to select all engagements at once.
  6. Click the Next button.
  7. In the first drop-down list, select the field you want to change for the selected engagements from the drop-down list.
  8. In the field next to the drop-down list, select the new value for the selected field.

    Note: The value you select will overwrite the existing value in this field for each engagement you have selected.

  9. To edit another field, click the Add Row Add Row button button and repeat the previous two steps to change the value for the selected field.
  10. Click the Finish button to update the selected fields for the selected engagements.
