Entering credit card and ACH payments

Follow these steps to initiate electronic payments with Kotapay. If you don't use Kotapay, see Processing ACH and credit card payments outside of Practice CS.

Before you can do this, there's some setup required. If you haven't setup a Kotapay account, enabled electronic payments in Practice CS, or added account information to your client(s), start with Credit card and ACH processing in Practice CS.

Entering payment information

  1. Choose Actions > Receipt & Adjustment Entry > Entry tab > Receipts tab.
  2. Enter a control date.

  3. Enter the bank account, date, and client ID.
  4. In the Type field, select Credit Card (CC) or Electronic Funds (ACH).
  5. Enter the payment amount.
  6. Click the More More button button next to the Amount field to apply the payment to an invoice.

  7. Press TAB or ENTER.
  8. If you're using Kotapay/CS Payment, a window will open for you to choose a credit card or choose client bank account information. If you haven't entered a CC or ACH payment in the last 15 minutes, you'll be prompted to log in to CS Payment first.

    Need help?

  9. Make sure all the fields are filled in. If you have a credit card reader, you can use it now to fill out this window.
  10. Click OK to submit the payment information to Kotapay. The submission will take a few seconds to complete.
