Practice CS: Monthly or Quarterly Projects Do Not Generate All Occurrences

Show expandable text

When you have a project that recurs monthly or quarterly and the project template is set to generate the project on the 31st day of each month or quarter, projects for some months or quarters do not generate. This is because the month in which the next due date occurs does not have a 31st day. Specifically, Practice CS will not generate a project for February, April, June, September, and November.

In general, Practice CS will not generate a project if the due date falls on a calendar date that does not exist. This will happen most often for projects that occur monthly or quarterly, though technically, it could also happen for projects that recur annually or periodically if the specified due date does not exist on the calendar.

Change the due date settings on the project template so that the project regenerates on the last day rather than the 31st day of the month or quarter.

The following example would cause a monthly project to not generate for any month that does not contain 31 days.

Due on date option selected

The following example will generate this monthly project every month of the year regardless of the end date of each month.
