Setting up user preferences for scheduling

Note: This tab is available only if you are licensed for the Staff Management module.

Mark one or more checkboxes for each reason that a schedule item should be listed as urgent. You can also create a filter to customize a reason for listing a schedule item as urgent.

  1. To access the Scheduling tab of User Preferences, do one of the following:
    • Choose Setup > User Preferences, and click the Scheduling tab.
    • Choose Actions > Manage Staff. In the Manage Staff screen, click the Urgent subtab, and then click the More Ellipse button. The Urgent subtab is available in the Assignments, Schedules, and Schedule Items tabs.
  2. Enable Urgent Tab: Mark this checkbox to display the Urgent tab in the Manage Staff screen.

    Note: This checkbox is marked by default.

    The Urgent tab shows all schedule items that are considered urgent based on the reasons that you specify by marking the following checkboxes.
  3. Priority — Schedule items are urgent when they:
    • Have a high priority and are not assigned
    • Have a high priority and are not scheduled
  4. Target Dates — Schedule items are urgent when they:
    • Are past the Target Start and not assigned
    • Are past the Target Start and not scheduled
  5. Due Dates
    • Are past due: Schedule items are urgent when they are past their due date.

      Note: This checkbox is marked by default.

    • Are due within _ days and not assigned: Schedule items are urgent if they are unassigned and due within the number of days that you enter.
    • Are due within _ days and not scheduled: Schedule items are urgent if they are unscheduled and due within the number of days that you enter.
  6. Other
    • Are overscheduled: The project, task, or to do item is urgent if its scheduled hours are more than its remaining hours.
    • Match the following filter: Mark this checkbox and then click the More Ellipse button to create a custom filter to specify when schedule items are urgent.
