If Schedule M-1 is not completed for federal Form 1120 or 1120S, what do I need to do if a state requires Schedule M-1 information?

You must still complete the Schedule M-1 section of Screen Mc or Ms if the state attached to the return requires Schedule M-1 information, but for federal purposes, Schedule M-1 is not completed. The information entered in these screens transfers to the state Schedule M-1. Therefore, you should continue to enter data in Screen Mc or Ms when the federal Schedule M-1 is not completed because the threshold requirements are met, or because Schedule M-3 is printed.
