Indiana requires certain preparers to file returns electronically for individuals. If the preparer firm is subject to the electronic filing mandate but the Indiana electronic file is suppressed, Form IN-OPT prints, Indiana Electronic Filing Opt-Out Declaration, with an originally filed paper return.

If the preparer firm is not subject to the mandate, choose Setup > 1040 Individual > Indiana tab and mark the Firm is not subject to electronic filing mandate box in order to suppress Form IN-OPT for all paper-filed returns.

You may force or suppress the printing of Form IN-OPT via the Print/suppress Form IN-OPT field on Screen INELF when the return is paper-filed.
