MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

Indiana requires certain preparers to file returns electronically for individuals. If the preparer firm is subject to the electronic filing mandate but the Indiana electronic file is suppressed, UltraTax CS prints Form IN-OPT, Indiana Electronic Filing Opt-Out Declaration, with an originally filed paper return.

If the preparer firm is not subject to the mandate, choose Setup > 1040 Individual > Indiana tab and mark the Firm is not subject to electronic filing mandate box in order to suppress Form IN-OPT for all paper-filed returns.

You may force or suppress the printing of Form IN-OPT via the Print/suppress Form IN-OPT field on Screen INELF when the return is paper-filed.
