MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

If you are licensed for FileCabinet CS, UltraTax CS can automatically back up client data in FileCabinet CS when you close a return in UltraTax CS or after you proforma client data from the prior-year application. To enable this feature, or to set preferences, follow these steps.

  1. Choose Setup > Office Configuration.

    Note: Depending on your security configuration, you might be required to enter the master password and click OK before you can proceed.

  2. Click the FileCabinet CS tab.
  3. Mark the Automatically back up client data to FileCabinet CS checkbox.
  4. Click the Options button to verify or change backup options.

    Note: For information about specific fields in this dialog, press F1.

  5. Click OK to close the Backup Options dialog, then click Done to close the Office Configuration dialog. 

Notes

  • As UltraTax CS automatically backs up client data in FileCabinet CS, a "Data Backup" folder is created for each drawer's ID in the Folder Window list.
  • By default, a maximum of three backups per client are stored in FileCabinet CS, with a maximum of one backup per day.
