MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

FinCEN Form 114 may be filed separately from the tax return. 

To create an electronic file of FinCEN Form 114 only and print a copy, follow the steps below.

  1. Choose File > Print Returns.
  2. In the Print Returns dialog, click the Options button.
  3. In the Print Options dialog, uncheck the Federal and any state return in the Return box and click OK.
  4. You can now print and/or create an electronic file for the FinCEN Form 114.

A second option to create an electronic file for FinCEN Form 114 only is to suppress the federal and state electronic file. To do so, follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to Screen ELF located in the Electronic Filing folder.
  2. On Screen ELF, mark Suppress the creation of: Both federal and state electronic files.
  3. Choose File > Print Returns to create an electronic file for the FinCEN Form 114 only.

Note: If the tax return is on extension and has not been filed, unmark Suppress the creation of: Both federal and state electronic files after Form 114 has been filed.
