MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

As you enter data, you can use the Tax Subject Index (TSI) to do any of the following:

Complete the following steps to use the Tax Subject Index.

  1. To open this dialog, enter text in the Find input for field on the UltraTax CS toolbar, click the Tax Subject Index Tax Subject Index button button, or choose Tax Subject Index from the Help menu. (Note that a client must be open before you can access the Tax Subject Index.)
  2. Click the appropriate option to indicate whether you want to view a list of tax subjects, forms, or view web form instructions.
  3. Type the tax subject, input screen, form name, or form instructions you want to find, or scroll through the list.
  4. When the desired item is highlighted, click the Go To button.
    • If you searched for a tax subject or form, UltraTax CS takes you to the input screen in which the data for that tax subject or form should be entered.
    • If you searched for form instructions, UltraTax CS automatically opens your web browser and displays the instructions for the selected form. Note that you need to have Adobe Reader installed to use this option; if necessary, you can install it from the Adobe Reader download site.
