MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

You can send a list of all UltraTax CS clients to Practice CS, and can then import the list into Practice CS and update your client database. The list includes the UltraTax CS client ID, SSN/EIN, name, and address for each client. To send this list to Practice CS, complete the following steps.

Note: These steps assume that you have already opened Practice CS, chosen Setup > Firm, clicked the Preferences tab, marked the Integrate this Firm with other solutions checkbox, and then clicked Enter.

  1. In UltraTax CS, choose Help > Repair to open the Repair dialog.
  2. Click the Misc tab.
  3. Click the CS Practice Products option in the Populate CS Applications group box, then click the Populate button. This will send the UltraTax CS client information to Practice CS.

    Note: This checkbox is available only if you are licensed for Practice CS and have it installed. If Practice CS is installed and this option is unavailable, choose Setup > User Preferences > File Locations and specify the location of Practice CS.
