MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

You can send a list of all UltraTax CS clients to ToolBox CS, and can then import the list into ToolBox CS. The list includes the UltraTax CS client ID, SSN/EIN, name, and address for each client. To send this list to ToolBox CS, complete the following steps.

  1. In UltraTax CS, choose Help > Repair to open the Repair dialog.
  2. Click the Misc tab.
  3. Click the ToolBox CS option in the Populate CS Applications group box, then click the Populate button. This will send the UltraTax CS client information to ToolBox CS.

    Note: This option is available only if you have ToolBox CS installed. If you have this application installed and the button is still unavailable, choose Setup > User Preferences, click the File Locations tab, then click the Other option and modify the location as necessary.

  4. In ToolBox CS, choose File > Import Clients.
  5. Verify that the correct path appears in the Import Clients dialog. If necessary, click the Browse button and navigate to the appropriate path.

    Note: If you are running UltraTax CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can navigate to files on your local network.

  6. Click the Import button.
  7. To see the results of the import, click the Clients button and select All Clients in the navigation pane.
