MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

Error Code F1040A-014: Each 'DependentSSN' on Form 1040A, Line 6c(2) must be a valid SSN/ITIN/ATIN.

When the IRS verifies the SSN, ATIN, and ITIN ranges, each section is taken on its own. In this case, the first, three digits can be between 900 and 999, then next two digits can be between 70 and 80, and the last four digits can be between 0000 and 9999. AND even in situations where you verify that it is a "correct" ITIN, the IRS will still reject the electronic file. For example, the IRS occasionally issues temporary Tax IDs... one reason is if the taxpayer was a victim of identity theft. In this case, you will have to file the return on paper.  If paper filing the return, refer to 1040 - US ELF:  Form 8948 - Paper Filing Exceptions.
