MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

Error reject code/rule F8962-043-01: If Form 8962, Line 1 'TotalExemptionsCnt' has a non-zero value, then Line 28 'AdditionalTaxLimitationAmt' must be equal to the tax limitation amount from the Repayment Limitation table (see Form 8962 instructions) based on Line 5 'FederalPovertyLevelPct' and filing status 'IndividualReturnFilingStatusCd' on Form 1040 or 1040A.

Taxpayers with filing status Married Filing Separate are allowed to split up the repayment limitation on Form 8962 line 28. In this scenario, UltraTax CS does not automatically calculate line 28 on Form 8962. To fix this error, input the repayment limitation amounts on Screen PTC, in field Repayment limitation (Force). Review Form 8962 instructions for line 28 to determine the appropriate repayment limitation.
