MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

Error Code FPYMT-089: 'PaymentAmt' in the IRS Payment Record must not be more than 200% of 'OwedAmt'. If a value is not provided for 'OwedAmt', treat that value as zero.

To electronically file this return, choose one of the following:

  1. Reduce the payment amount to less than 200% of the amount owed on page 2 of Form 1040. This can be entered on Screen ELF, located under the Electronic Filing folder, in the Electronic funds withdrawal for the balance due returns: Amount of tax payment (Force) field, or
  2. On Screen Pen, located under the Payments folder, suppress any penalties calculating on the bottom of Form 1040, page 2.

Once the amount of payment is less than 200% of the amount on the Amount you owe line of Form 1040, page 2, the electronic file can be recreated and retransmitted. If the payment amount is not lowered to less than 200% of the amount owed, the return will need to be filed on paper. Refer to 1040-US ELF: Form 8948 - Paper Filing Exceptions.

Note: If filing the return on paper, the electronic funds withdrawal payment method cannot be used. Refer to the Filing & Payment section of the IRS homepage for additional payment options.
