MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Error Code IND-680-01: If the Spouse SSN in the Return Header is under the age of 16 and did not file a tax return in the previous year, then the 'PINTypeCd' must not have the value "Self-Select Practitioner".

Spouses under the age of 16 must have filed a tax return in the preceding tax year in order to qualify to use the Self-Select PIN.

If the spouse is under the age of 16 and has never filed a tax return, then you'll need to use the Practitioner PIN method or the return will need to be filed on paper.  If filing the return on paper, refer to 1040 - US ELF:  Form 8948 - Paper Filing Exceptions.

If the spouse is under the age of 16 but has filed a tax return in a prior year, access Screen PIN, located under the Electronic Filing folder, and mark the Taxpayer or spouse under age 16 and previously filed a return checkbox.
