Error Code IND-931-01:  The Dependent SSN (or Qualifying Child Identifying Number on Form 1040-SS (PR)) has been locked because Social Security Administration records indicate the number belongs to a deceased individual.

When receiving this rejection, you'll want to verify the SSN entered for all dependents on Screen 1040, located under the General folder, in the Dependents information statement dialog.  If the SSN has been entered correctly, you'll need to contact the IRS to determine why the SSN is 'locked' and will also need to paper file the return.  Refer to Form 8948 - Paper Filing Exceptions.

If the SSN has been entered incorrectly, enter the correct one and then you can recreate and resubmit the electronic file.
