MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

To add a location for personal or experimental data that is separate from your firm's client data, complete the following steps.

  1. From the Setup menu, choose User Preferences.
  2. Click the File Locations tab.
  3. If it is not marked, click the current-year UltraTax CS option to display the location of your current-year UltraTax CS application and data files.
  4. In the File Types and Location list, highlight the UltraTax CS client data path, and then click the Modify Location button.
  5. In the UltraTax CS Data Location dialog, click the Point to my personal location option.
  6. Click the Change Location button.
  7. In the Add Personal Data Location dialog, click the Enter Path button next to the First, enter the path of the UltraTax CS data location field.
  8. In the Modify Location dialog, navigate to the directory in which you want to store the UltraTax CS client data, and then click OK.
  9. In the Add Personal Data Location dialog, click the Enter Path button next to the Next, enter the path of the Fixed Assets CS data location field.
  10. In the Modify Location dialog, navigate to the directory in which you want to store the depreciation client data, and then click OK.
  11. Click OK to close each dialog.
  12. Ensure that you know how to switch between firm and personal data locations.
