MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

Complete these steps to select Thomson Reuters as the transmitter for returns filed electronically. If you do not want to use Thomson Reuters as the electronic filing transmitter, the Use Thomson Reuters as the ELF transmitter checkbox should be left blank.

Note: This option is available only to users that are licensed for transmitting electronically filed returns through Thomson Reuters and a third party service provider. If you are licensed for transmission through only Thomson Reuters, this option is not listed.

  1. From the Setup menu, choose User Preferences.
  2. Click the Misc tab.
  3. If it is not already marked, mark the Use Thomson Reuters as the ELF transmitter checkbox.
  4. Click OK.
