MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

Occasionally, you may want to make a note to yourself or to another reviewer about the client or the client's return. For example, you may want to remind yourself to follow up with the client about a particular question or indicate special issues regarding the return. For such instances, UltraTax CS allows you to attach one client note that can be shared with Fixed Assets CS, FileCabinet CS, and Practice CS (if licensed).

Note: Client notes will print with the Review Notes report if you have selected that report to print on the Return Collation dialog.

  1. From any input screen or form, click the Client Note Client note button button or select Edit > Client Note to open the Client Note dialog.

    Note: To have a client note open with the client, mark the Automatically display note when client is opened checkbox in the Misc tab of the User Preferences dialog.

  2. Enter the text for the client note.


    • You can change the typeface, size, and attributes of the text if desired.
    • You can enter a client note in Fixed Assets CS, FileCabinet CS, and Practice CS (if licensed).
  3. Click OK.


  • If a client note is already attached to the client, the Client Note button will remain selected.
  • To edit the text for the client note, click the Client Note button or select Edit > Client Note.
