Question

When does UltraTax CS automatically complete the Name of Electronic Return Originator field on the IRS e-file Signature Authorization form?

Answer

This field is completed when the taxpayer and/or spouse gives the Electronic Return Originator (ERO) authorization to enter their self-selected Personal Identification Number (PIN). UltraTax CS automatically generates the information in this field when code 2, ERO entered Taxpayer PIN, 3, ERO entered Spouse PIN, or 4, ERO entered Taxpayer and Spouse PINs are entered in the PIN authorization indicator field in Screen PIN. UltraTax CS does not complete this field if the taxpayer and spouse, if applicable, enter their own PIN.
