New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

If you accepted the defaults when you installed third-party applications, the drive and path on which the third-party application looks for electronic filing data is C:\. This drive and path is displayed in the File Types and Locations list in the File Locations tab.

If you need to modify the data drive and/or path, follow these steps.

  1. Choose Setup > User Preferences to open the User Preferences dialog.
  2. Click the File Locations tab.
  3. In the File Locations tab, click the Other option.
  4. Highlight ELF: 3rd party data in the list, and click the Modify Location button.
  5. In the Modify Location dialog, navigate to the appropriate drive and path, and then click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the User Preferences dialog.

Note: When you use a third-party application vendor to transmit electronic returns, the Electronic Filing Status dialog is not enabled in UltraTax CS. You should direct all questions regarding rejections, acknowledgments, or electronic filing errors to the third-party software vendor's technical support department.
