New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Benefit plans can be large or small. Large plans have 100 members or more, small plans have 99 members or fewer. If you don't make a selection, UltraTax CS defaults to small.

To change from a large plan to a small plan, or vice versa, do the following:

1. Proforma the client's data from the previous year.
2. Open Screen 5500 in the General folder.

3. Select L or S from the Type of return to calculate drop-down list, depending on the type of plan. UltraTax CS prints various schedules and issues the appropriate diagnostic messages based on this selection.

   Note: If this field is blank, UltraTax CS defaults to a small plan.
