Federal consolidated group consists of:

Consolidated designation Client name
Consolidated client Colors Consolidated Company, Inc.
Parent client Colors Parent Company
Subsidiary Subsidiary Red
Subsidiary Subsidiary Yellow
Subsidiary Subsidiary Blue
Eliminations client Federal Colors Eliminations Company

North Dakota unitary business group consists of:

Consolidated designation Client name
Consolidated client Colors Consolidated Company, Inc.
Parent client Colors Parent Company
Subsidiary Subsidiary Red
Subsidiary Subsidiary Yellow
Subsidiary Subsidiary Green

The North Dakota unitary business group does not include the federal Subsidiary Blue, but does include Subsidiary Green. North Dakota also does not include an eliminations client.

  1. In this situation, choose File > Client Properties.
  2. In the Group tab of the Advanced Properties dialog, highlight Subsidiary Blue in the consolidated group list and click the Remove button.
  3. Highlight Subsidiary Green in the client list and click the Select Subsidiary button.
  4. Repeat this procedure with the applicable eliminations clients.

Note: The North Dakota unitary business group may have a different parent client than the federal consolidated group. In this situation, a new consolidated client would need to be created with a new parent company and a separate EIN. Choose File > New Client to create this client.
