New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

UltraTax CS includes three apportionment information reports; one for each factor: Property, Payroll, and Sales. Each report lists the components for that factor and, for each component, the in-state and everywhere amounts that appear on the apportionment form.

  1. Choose View > Apportionment to open the Apportionment spreadsheet.

Note: You must have a state return attached to the current client to open this window. See Adding a state or city return for a client.

  2. Choose Apportionment > Print Reports to open the Print Reports dialog.
  3. To print the report to FileCabinet CS in addition to your printer, mark the Store image in FileCabinet CS checkbox if it is not already marked. This checkbox is only available if you are licensed for FileCabinet CS and have it installed.

Note: To print the report to FileCabinet CS only, clear the Printer checkbox.

  4. In the Print what group box, mark the checkbox for each factor whose apportionment report you want to print.
  5. To print more than one copy, select the desired number in the Copies field.
  6. Click the Print button. (Or, if you are printing to FileCabinet CS only, click the To Cabinet button.)

Note: If the apportionment amounts that appear on the return are not what you expected, review this report in combination with the Apportionment Combination Tables guide. This table demonstrates how UltraTax CS combines the amounts you enter in the Apportionment spreadsheet, the Apportionment state tab (New York only), and the State Everywhere Force dialog. The combined amounts are then reported on the apportionment form.
