Question

How do I enter tax-exempt interest and/or dividend income?

Answer

Total tax-exempt interest and dividend income (including interest or dividend income from private activity bonds) should be entered in the appropriate column of the Interest Income and Dividend Income statement dialogs in Screen B&D or Screen Broker. Interest or dividend income from private activity bonds should also be entered in the AMT Int Income (PAB) column of the Interest Income statement dialog and the applicable AMT column in the Dividend Income statement dialog. Amounts entered in those columns will only be used for Form 6251 calculations.
