Use the Advanced Allocation Scheme dialog to define an advanced allocation scheme. You can add various combinations of allocation types using up to two Absolute dollar, two Percentage, one Percentage column and one Units column, or two Greater of columns to the allocation scheme in the Special Allocation of dialog. See Entering special allocations with advanced allocation schemes for more information.

To open the Advanced Allocation Scheme dialog, do one the following:

  • Click the Ptr Alloc Partner Allocation button button next to the field that contains the information that you want to specially allocate to open the Special Allocation of dialog, mark the Specially allocate checkbox, click the Advanced option in the Allocation scheme group box, and click the Define Scheme Define Scheme button button.
  • Click the Partner Information Partner Information button button, choose View > Partner Information, or press CTRL+R; click the Allocations button; in the Allocation list, select the allocation that contains the information you want to specially allocate; mark the Specially allocate checkbox; click the Advanced option in the Allocation scheme group box; and click the Define Scheme Define Scheme button button.

Fields & buttons

This pane shows the previously-defined advanced allocation schemes. Highlight the desired format in this list, and click the Select button to move the components of the selected format to the Advanced Scheme pane. To modify the format, you can add additional allocation components from the Allocation Components pane, click the Remove button, or click the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

In the Previously Used Schemes pane, highlight the allocation method that you want to use, and click the Select button to move the components to the Advanced Scheme pane.

This pane shows the allocation types that you can use in an allocation scheme. You can select various combinations of these types. See Entering special allocations (1065) for details about adding allocation types to an allocation scheme.

In the Allocation Components pane, highlight the allocation type that you want to add to the scheme, and click the Add button to move the type to the Advanced Scheme pane.

This pane shows the allocation types you have selected to define the item's allocation scheme. You can remove selected components or click the Move Up and Move Down buttons to modify the order of the allocation components.

In the Advanced Scheme pane, highlight the allocation type that you want to delete from the scheme. Click the Remove button to delete the type from the current scheme and move the allocation type to the Allocation Components pane.

Highlight an allocation type in the Advanced Scheme pane, and click the Move Up button to move the allocation type up one row in the Advanced Scheme pane.

Note: You must follow certain ordering rules to ensure that the full amount is distributed to partners. For example, if you use percentage or unit, UltraTax CS may require that percentage or unit is the last column of the advanced allocation scheme. Therefore, the Move Up button may not be available for all items in the Advanced Scheme pane.

Highlight an allocation type in the Advanced Scheme pane, and click the Move Down button to move the allocation type down one row in the Advanced Scheme pane.

For example, if you use percentage or unit, UltraTax CS may require that percentage or unit is the last column of the advanced allocation scheme. Therefore, the Move Down button may not be available for all items in the Advanced Scheme pane.
