New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

If you do not enter any amounts in the Apportionment Information dialog, the application assumes the client does 100 percent of business within the state. Choose View > Apportionment to enter apportionment amounts in the applicable state column.

To calculate zero apportionment, enter amounts under the Other column or another state in the Apportionment Information dialog.

Notes

  • For certain industries indicated in the tax instructions for the following states, utilize the modified factors only: Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
  • Nebraska uses only the sales factor to apportion income for corporate income tax purposes. Financial institutions use the property and payroll factors in the franchise tax apportionment.
  • For Mississippi, select Apportionment method in View > Apportionment Information.
  • For New York, see 1120-NY: Calculating Apportionment.
  • For certain industries indicated in the Rhode Island tax instructions, click the Alternate Apportionment button to access modified factors.
  • For Vermont items with a statement, open the statement and enter both Vermont and Everywhere amounts as applicable.
