Follow these steps to review the results of the most recent search in Data Mining.

  1. If necessary, select and perform the search.
  2. If no clients pass the search, the Search Results dialog opens automatically. If clients pass the search, click the Search Results button in the Print dialog.
  3. In the Search Results dialog, you can view the results in two different ways.
    • Click the Results by Search Criteria tab. This tab displays the number of clients who passed and failed each search criterion contained in the selected search. Search criteria are numbered in the Item column and named in the Description column. The Passed column indicates how many clients have a particular search criterion in their data, and the Failed column indicates how many clients do not have a particular search criterion in their data. At the bottom of the Passed and Failed columns, Data Mining displays the total number of clients who passed and failed the search.
    • Click the Results by Client tab. This tab displays the search results for each client in the database. Clients are numbered and then listed by client ID and client name. In the Passed column, a Yes or No indicates whether or not a client has passed the search. The remaining column headings are search criterion numbers that match the search criterion numbers in the Search Criteria tab. A Y or an N in a column indicates whether or not a client has passed that search criterion. Note that you can pause your mouse pointer over the Y or N in a numbered column to view the name of the search criterion represented by that column.
  4. Based on the search results, do one of the following:
    • To select a different search, close the Print dialog or click Done and continue to the Print Selection and Client Search dialog to change the search focus or modify the criteria defined in the selected search.
    • Use the options in the Print dialog to print or email the selected letters or custom reports or to assemble eSignature documents (if applicable) for your clients to sign.
    • To export data to a file for clients who passed the search, click Cancel, then choose Tools > Export from the menu in the Data Mining window.
    • To print mailing labels, click Cancel, and choose Tools > Mailing Labels.
    • To assemble eSignature documents, mark the Web / eSignature: Thomson Reuters data center checkbox under Electronic Delivery in the Print dialog and click the Assemble / Print button.
    • To send client letters via email, mark the Email client letters as PDF attachments, if email address is available checkbox under Electronic Delivery in the Print dialog, enter the subject line of the email in the Subject of email field, select the letter you want to send via email, and click the Email / Print button.
    • To send client letters and reports to FileCabinet CS (if licensed), mark the FileCabinet CS checkbox in the Print dialog, select the letter or report you want to send, and click the Print or To Cabinet button.
