You can filter client data in the Electronic Filing Status dialog.

Designate the Date Modified column as a Primary column

To filter using a specific column, that column must be designated as a Primary column. Therefore, if the column is not already indicated as a Primary column (which it is by default), click the Column Preferences button () and change the Date Modified designation to Primary.

Filtering to view which clients have changed within the past 1, 5, 7, or 10 days

  1. Click the filter icon () on the right side of the Date Modified column.
  2. From the drop-down list, select one of the options for "Newer than N days", where "N" is 1, 5, 7, or 10.

Filtering to view which clients have changed from a given date through the current date

For the sake of this example, assume the current date to be April 15, 2011, and the intent of the filtering to be displaying only those clients who have changed for e-file purposes in the past week (since April 8, 2011).

  1. Click the filter icon () on the right side of the Date Modified column, and select "(Custom)."
  2. In the Enter filter criteria for Date Modified dialog that opens, select an Operator of either "Greater than" or "Greater than or equal to."
  3. Select an Operand that represents the initial date and time, which can either be selected from the drop-down list from the dates and times of existing clients or entered in MM/DD/YY HH:MMPM format. Therefore, by entering 04/08/11 08:00AM, the application filters to display only those clients altered for e-file purposes since that date and time.
  4. Click OK. The Electronic Filing Status dialog will now be focused to display only those clients changed in some way (for e-file purposes) since April 8, 2011 at 8:00AM.

Filtering to view which clients changed between two given dates

For the sake of this example, assume that it is June 1, 2011, and the intent of this filter is to determine the e-file volume processed between April 8, 2011 and April 15, 2011.

  4. Click the Add a condition button on the left of the dialog.
  5. For the second condition, select an Operator of "Less than" or "Less than or equal to."
  6. Verify that the button at the top-left of the dialog remains set to "And conditions."
  7. Select an Operand that represents the final date in the range, using the same data entry format as the first condition. To follow the example, the operand data entry would be as follows: 04/15/2011 11:59PM.
  8. Click OK. The Electronic Filing Status dialog will now be focused to display only those clients changed in some way (for e-file purposes) between April 8, 2011 at 8:00AM and April 15, 2011 at 11:59PM.
