New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

The steps outlined below should only be followed when:

  1. You are unable to open a client or proforma due to a network lock, and
  2. No one else has the client open in any year of UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS

You may also wish to delete locks from within the program rather than using the steps below.

For more information, click the appropriate link: UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS.

If you receive an error about the file being in use when you attempt to manually remove these file locks, confirm that the program you are working with is closed and try again. If the error persists and you are unable to determine which program is attached to the file, restart the computer hosting the file to release it.
