User interface settings are used to store user-specific configuration information such as login information, window pane positions and sizing, grid and column positions, sizing, and ordering, search and filter settings, and more. For Accounting CS, these settings are stored in the ClientSettings.xml file located in the user's local application data path, such as %localappdata%\Creative Solutions\Accounting CS.

To assist with potential maintenance needs, the ClientSettings.xml file can be deleted, and a new file will be created with the default settings the next time the application is opened.

Choose Help > Reset User Interface Settings to delete this file and reset this information.

Following this procedure, the application must be closed and re-opened.

Notes

  • If preferred, the ClientSettings.xml file can be manually renamed by browsing to the user's local application data path.
  • The user's local application data path can be accessed by using Windows File Explorer and typing %localappdata%\Creative Solutions\Accounting CS in the address bar, which will navigate to the full path such as C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Creative Solutions\Accounting CS.
