As of July 9, 2019, Microsoft no longer supports SQL Server 2008 R2 or earlier. Therefore, as of the v.2019.2.0 Accounting CS release, your firm must have SQL Server 2012 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS to retrieve this update and any application updates beyond the v.2019.2.0 release. Notes

  • This change does not affect firms using Accounting CS via Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • There are a number of reminders and alerts within the application for firms who have not yet upgraded to SQL Server 2012 or higher. Details
    • An alert displays when Accounting CS is opened.
    • An alert message displays in red, linked text in the bottom-right corner of the application.
    • Attempts to access CS Connect will prompt an alert to display.

In January 2020, Microsoft will end support for Windows 7. Because Thomson Reuters cannot support customers using our applications on unsupported operating systems, starting on January 14, 2020, Accounting CS will no longer be supported on Windows 7. We strongly recommend that you upgrade your workstations to a supported operating system soon. For more information, see End of support for Windows 7.

General

  • We have addressed an issue with the behavior of the Actions > Analyze Client Activity screens. Details
    When any of the Analyze Client Activity screens were open, you could not change the focus to the main application screen, either by clicking outside of the screen or by pressing ALT+TAB on the keyboard.

Import of client data from QuickBooks Pro

  • We have addressed an issue that prevented Accounting CS from properly importing transactions from QuickBooks Pro. Details
    Accounting CS imported all transactions as journal entries, and, in certain circumstances, did not import any transactions at all.

General - Payroll

  • We have addressed the following issues.
    • Pennsylvania. In certain circumstances, Accounting CS calculated the Local Services Tax (LST) for employees even after the limit had been reached.
    • Puerto Rico. Accounting CS did not calculate any Puerto Rico income tax withholding amounts.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

  • We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, prevented Accounting CS from calculating state withholding wages and taxes. Details
    This issue occurred when Work only was selected for an employee in the Multi-state withholding field in the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Employees screen.
  • For every release, be sure to check the Updates for payroll tax rates, limits, and minimum wage rates (year to date) article to stay on top of changes that may affect your firm and clients.

Payroll compliance

  • We have addressed the following issues.
    • Hawaii. The liability adjustment calculation has been updated for the HW-14 form.
    • Kentucky. The UI-3 internet file did not include the SCUF rate.
