General

  • We have made a number of enhancements to the Bank Feeds feature. Details
    • We have renamed the Client Bank Status portlet to the Bank Account Details portlet.
    • We have renamed the Firm Bank Status portlet to the Bank Feeds Overview portlet.
    • You can now resize and rearrange columns in the Bank Feeds grid and the Bank Feeds Overview grid. Your column settings are saved between visits to the Bank Feeds Dashboard. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2247, #2256, and #2872)
    • You can now set up rules based on a selected Bank Account in the Condition section of the Rules dialog, which is accessed by clicking the Rules hyperlink in the Bank Feeds portlet. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2814)
    • We have added Select Highlighted and Deselect Highlighted as right-click options for retrieved transaction rows in the Bank Feeds portlet.
    • Accounting CS now uses a vendor’s standard distributions when a vendor is selected (or set by a rule) for retrieved transaction rows in the Bank Feeds portlet. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2814 and #2864)

Note: This behavior occurs automatically based on the vendor assignment, unless a rule is used to assign specific GL account distributions.

  • We have added the Prompt to confirm when the transaction date is not in the posting period checkbox in the Preferences tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Firm screen. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #153) Details
When this option is marked, Accounting CS displays a confirmation prompt when you attempt to save a transaction and the transaction's date is outside of its posting period.
  • We have updated the Setup > Onvio Documents > Folder Mapping dialog to allow further customization of folder names and folder levels.

Accounting CS Client Access

  • We have added the Bank Feeds feature to Accounting CS Client Access. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2652 and #3311) Details
    • For each client security group that will use this feature, you must mark the permissions desired in the Setup > Firm Information > Client Security Groups screen.
    • For each client staff that will use this feature, you must set up a CS Professional Suite account (as a Software Only user) so the client staff is able to log in and access bank feeds with their own Thomson Reuters ID.

Reports

  • We have updated the following accounts receivable reports to address certain output issues.
    • Sales Tax - Condensed Details
We have addressed an issue that caused data to output incorrectly after certain sales tax rates were changed.
    • Sales Tax - Detailed Details
We have updated the report to prevent the output of empty sales tax groups.

Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, Accounting CS will not overwrite your existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary changes to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version using the Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report Designer and then choose File > Restore Default.

Layout Designer

  • We have added the following variables to the Tax Form > W-2 Employee section of the variable tree.
    • SSN - Masked with Asterisks up to Last Four Digits
    • SSN - Masked with Xs up to Last Four Digits

You can now import information for new employees who have elected to use the new 2020 Form W-4 settings into the application via spreadsheet import.

Note: We will add the same support for the import of existing employee information in a future update.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

Payroll compliance
