To find out how we're responding to the impact of COVID-19 on your firm's payroll process and general operations, and to access additional resources and news, see Families First Coronavirus Response Act - Impact on payroll processing.

COVID-19 changes

  • We have updated the application to accommodate new paid sick leave and liability credits mandated by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. To help you meet the requirements of the act, we have made the following changes.
    • We have added three new options to the Special type field in the Main tab of the Setup > Payroll Items screen for creating new paid leave payroll items related to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

During payroll check calculation, Accounting CS automatically exempts the pay items that you create using the new COVID-19 special types from the employer portion of the FICA-SS liability.

  • We have added the Average Payroll Cost Worksheet to the Accounting CS Library. You can provide this report to your clients to help them apply for the Paycheck Protection Program, as specified in the CARES Act.
  • We have added the following articles in the Help & How-To Center to help you navigate the process of setting up and activating pay items for the new paid sick leave types and for, optionally, tracking hours using accruable benefit items.
