Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

Payroll compliance

  • Kentucky. Effective for tax year 2021, the Kentucky Department of Revenue now requires all semimonthly and monthly depositors to file Form K-1 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the form. As a result, we have made changes to the application for semimonthly and monthly depositors. No changes have been made for quarterly and annual depositors. For more information, see Kentucky - Withholding forms update for v.2020.4.3. Details
    • We have added Form K-1 as a Reconciliation form type with Electronic and Web fill-in as available filing methods.

Note: Only for the month of January 2021, semimonthly depositors need to mark the Monthly checkbox in the Actions > Process Payroll Tax Forms screen or the Actions > Edit Payroll Tax Forms screen to make the form available for processing.

    • We have removed Form K-1 as a Payment form type.

Note: For quarterly filers, the form is still available as a Payment form type.

    • We have added the ability to file Form K-1 electronically via FSET. For more information, see Kentucky payroll tax information.

Note: For quarterly filers, the form will be made available to electronically file via FSET on a future release in time to meet the 2022 electronic filing mandate.

    • We have removed Form K-1E as it is now obsolete.

Note: For quarterly filers, the form is still available as a Reconciliation form type.

    • For more information, see the following notes.
      • For semimonthly periods after January, we are actively working with the state to complete the required changes and will release an application update (tentatively scheduled for February 18, 2021) to meet the next filing deadline.
      • For semimonthly and monthly depositors, the Form K-1 electronic file will not include payment information. Therefore, payments must be made using either the Direct Deposit method in the application or by visiting the Kentucky Department of Revenue's website.
      • For tax year 2022, the Kentucky Department of Revenue will be requiring all depositors to file all Forms K-1 and K-3 electronically. We are working with the state to implement the necessary changes to meet those filing requirements in time for processing.
  • Rhode Island. We have removed the Filing Type options from the Transmitter Information dialog (accessed from the Actions > Manage Internet/Magnetic Files screen). Details

The application will now always use CD as the filing type in the Form TX-17 (Continuation) magnetic file.
