New features and new reports that are released in this version might be protected by security privileges. If your firm has enabled firm security, please evaluate all enhancements and update your security groups as needed.
After July 12, 2022, Microsoft will no longer support SQL Server 2012 or earlier. Therefore, as of the v.2022.2.0 Accounting CS release, scheduled for late June 2022, your firm must have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS. See Discontinued support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for details and steps you can take to continue using Accounting CS without interruption.
Note: This change does not affect firms using Accounting CS on Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS).
Import of client data from QuickBooks Pro
- We have added the ability to import data from QuickBooks Pro 2022 using the CS QuickBooks Data Utility v.22.1. You can download this version from the My Product Downloads page of our website.
Note: You will need to replace the CS QuickBooks Data Utility with this new version on any computer that has v.15.1 installed.
Export of client data to QuickBooks Pro
- We have added the ability to export data to QuickBooks Pro 2022 using the CS QuickBooks Data Utility v.22.1. You can download this version from the My Product Downloads page of our website.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.
- We have addressed an issue with partial impounding clients when impounding only direct deposit, where certain payroll checks were unexpectedly using the impound bank account layout, check number, logo, and/or signatures. Details
- For every release, be sure to check the Updates for payroll tax rates, limits, and minimum wage rates (year to date) article to stay on top of changes that may affect your firm and clients.
Payroll compliance
- Pennsylvania locals. Effective for tax year 2022, the City of Philadelphia has moved its annual reconciliation to a quarterly filing requirement. All employers are required to electronically file the new quarterly reconciliation Form Philadel_Q. The City of Philadelphia has extended the due date for filing the first quarter returns to July 15, 2022.
Note: We continue to work closely with the City of Philadelphia on implementing the new Form Philadel_Q worksheet and electronic file. We plan to release both on a future application update in time to meet the recently extended filing deadline.
Updates for payroll tax forms, tax agents, and new hire files
To search for a specific state, locality, form, or file in one of the sections listed below, follow these steps.
Accounting CS includes two interactive tools that provide valuable payroll tax information.
- The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet provides information on federal, state, and certain local tax agents in the Home Dashboard or Firm Dashboard.
- The State-specific payroll tax form information article provides information on state payroll tax forms, processing tips, due dates, filing methods, agency information, tax payment details, state ID formats, e-filing notes, new hire reporting requirements, and more.
